Had an incredible evening at Battello! Samantha was absolutely amazing, very kind, generous & made us feel very welcome. The ambiance is very relaxing & cozy. The seafood tower had a little bit of everything to satisfy our tastebuds.
This is for special occasions, great place on the water, parking was no problem, we had pasta with Lamb excellent dish, Burrata and tomato said it came with sourdough pesto , but that was just a tiny editable cracker on top, the dish was still excellent, we ordered a glass of wine, which came 1/4 full, that was not too good. The sword fish was very good. The overall experience was very good, it is Italian gourmet food.
We dined at Battello tonight. It was a mild early fall night and the patio and doors were open. The views of Manhattan are excellent and the sun dipped below the light clouds right at sunset and put a warm red glow on the city. We initially sat inside the doors but a large party came in. They weren't especially loud but it got busy and took some relaxation out of our moment. We asked the manager if we could move outside to the patio and they accommodated us with no questions asked. It made our night. They have an impressive cocktail list and local and national beers. I opted for a 902 Brewing Path Pale Ale. Quite good. My wife ordered the Emmy James cocktail and was pleased. For an appetizer we got the Roasted Spanish Octopus. IMO the sauce was perfect but the Octopus was overdone and a bit tough. For dinner, we both ordered the Fennel & Ginger Crusted Pork Chop. I opted for French fries rather than the mashed potatoes but both starches were perfect. The chops we tender and cooked perfectly. They pre-slice and pour the sauce on top which is great. The red cabbage and red pepper relish complimented the pork well. No regrets here, the chops were excellent. For dessert we shared the Chocolate Budino with a cappuccino. Overall it was an excellent night with great service, excellent food and a beautiful view. We'll be back.
Enjoyed a beautiful summer evening here. The restaurant atmosphere outside and inside is a wonderful mix of casual luxury. Loved the interior design elements which were warm. The views are definitely worth it. Pair all that with a thoughtful and innovative menu and you have a memorable experience. I would highly recommend the tuna tartare and octopus starter. Everyone’s entrees at the table were exquisite and beautifully presented. The drinks were excellent and strong with magical combinations. Primavera passion was a favorite. I would have appreciated slightly bigger portions for sharing and tasting. At the price you end up spending on a dinner here, it would be thoughtful to serve a creative complimentary bread roll ( to mop up all the amazing sauces in the appetizers!) Service while being pleasant and adequate was hugely lacking in warmth and friendliness and no one went the extra step to be welcoming as a whole staff. I recommend going around 7:30 pm for a beautiful sunset hour. And be prepared for a minimum of $110 per person (cocktail/ appetizer/ entree / dessert/ coffee ) The views and atmosphere is stunning.
Pleasant staff, great teamwork by the team, classy interior, good food, high ceiling dining. Limited parking space, valet parking available. Clean restroom. High chair and koala care seen. Beautiful view of manhattan skyline. Al fresco dining during warm days. They also offer bookings for events. Highly recommended for dates and anniversaries. See images for further reference.
The entire experience was delightful. Great ambiance with spectacular view of NYC. Amazing and fast serivce and food was delicious. Loved the pimpkin cheesecake. They even gave us complimentary cookies. Highly recommend for special occasions.
8.5/10 Tiramisu Classico 8.5/10 Steak Frites 4.5/10 RD Burger: Medium Lovely food, however the yellow sauce for the steak frites was gross, it tasted like straight nachos cheese from Walmart. Honestly only au poivre sauce should be served with steak. The tiramisu was so delicious.
I'm embarrassed to admit that after living in Jersey City for 8 years, I've only recently tried Battello for the first time and my oh my have I been missing out. Not only is the atmosphere stunning with views of Manhattan right on the water, but the food is incredible. I came here as a walk in on my birthday, and although the staff wasn't aware it was a special occasion (until dessert), they treated us phenomenally which is truly a testament to their standards for service. Everything we ordered was amazing, I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu. Do yourself a favor and go to Battello!
